Theme 2026

Flotsambury

Flotsambury is a music festival world - a world of music.

A place where sound becomes form, where rhythm washes ashore, and where stories are shaped, carried, and remembered.

This year, Flotsam & Jetsam invites artists to explore music in all its expressions, from musicals and opera to legendary musicians, instruments, melodies, moments, and the feeling music leaves behind.

Think the nostalgia of Mamma Mia!, iconic legends like Elvis PresleyMarilyn Monroe or Tina Turner, or famous places like the Sydney Opera House.

Music might appear as a person or presence, an instrument, a symbol, a space, or an abstract response to rhythm and sound — inspired by the past, present, or something yet to come.

Flotsambury is a celebration of music that moves you, what you love, and the songs, sounds, and moments that have shaped your story — whether your work holds deep meaning, or simply captures a feeling, form, or sound.

As always, the theme is optional. Artists are free to create any work using flotsam and jetsam, inspired by the theme or not.

We believe that art has the power to make a positive impact on the world. By participating in this event, you’ll be sharing your creativity and helping us raise awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans and beaches.
