We believe that every pieces of jewellery should tell a story, embodying the essence of the artist and the material, so to does our artist entries in Flotsam +Jetsam. A dedication infused into a creation and encapsulating the beauty of the material and its origin. We hope your artworks offer you a freedom and determination to follow your dreams. Our 2024 Flotsam + Jetsam Theme is ‘Plantasia’
'Plantasia,’ The enchanting realm of flora and all that live amongst it. Embark on a botanical adventure where land and sea unite in a dance of flowers and waves. From floral driftwood to blooms swaying from sea to bee, explore the language of plants and life within it—a reflection of the cycle of life. Immerse in a garden where every petal tells a story, adding a touch to the canvas of our lives. Join us in 'Plantasia,' where nature's beauty inspires.
Please note: Artist may create ANY piece of artwork using Flotsam + Jetsam, whether they have used the theme as an inspiration or not. In the past, our artists have loved a theme but we encourage ‘freedom to create’ and welcome all entries.
We believe that art has the power to make a positive impact on the world. By participating in this event, you will not only be creating something beautiful, but also helping us raise awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans and beaches.

6-8th May: Artwork Submission - Drop off your Artwork at old travel shop on corner of Marine Terrace and Cathedral Avenue
18th May: Opening Night and Award announcements

100% (or as close to) using ocean debris materials collected from the ocean clean-up at the Abrolhos Islands.
Some construction will require glue, nails, paint etc, and this is acceptable, however it must be a “fit for purpose” amount.
