WATCH OUT FOR 2023 - COMING SOON!

A truly supported community art exhibition which starts with cleaning up debris at the Abrolhos Islands to selling that ‘debris’ at a prestigious annual art event.

Launching on Clean Up Australia Day, the first Sunday in March each year, a team of Latitude Jewellers volunteers travel to the Abrolhos Islands, home to our pearl farm, to spend their weekend ‘cleaning up’ the environment.

Following the Clean Up, people come from near and far to select items that inspire them. Artists have a few weeks to create their master piece, and the category winners will be announced at the exhibition opening night on Saturday 30th April 2022.

The exhibition is at Latitude Jeweller's and will be open to the general public from 1st May until the 28th May 2022.

There is an opportunity for the community to vote for their favourite piece of art and the People’s Choice Award will be announced on the 27th May 2022.

With around 100 entries this is a truly unique exhibition that has a
strong sustainability message and aims to drive awareness of our environmental
responsibility to protect and reserve the Abrolhos Islands and our beautiful planet.

If you’re an art lover, don’t miss the opportunity to view the incredible pieces created and proudly displayed at Latitude Jewellers, 169 Marine Terrace, Geraldton.

nautical wonders, myths and mysteries

The theme for Flotsam & Jetsam 2022 is Nautical Wonders, Myths and Mysteries.

Latitude Jeweller's has a long ongoing relationship with the ocean and we draw inspiration from our Island home at the Abrolhos Islands. From its rich history of shipwrecks, fascinating marine life and the peoples that have travelled there over the past four centuries.

We often wonder, if only the ocean could put into words, her secrets, mysteries and untold tales, if she could, what would she reveal?

Some examples you may like to incorporate into the design of your artpiece:

Navigational Charts

Mythical Sea Creatures

The Houtman Abrolhos Islands Ships or Shipwrecks

Navigational Symbols

Celestial Navigation

Navigational Instruments

The Southern Cross

After the success of the 2021 Flotsam & Jetsam Wearable Art theme, we are incorporating this as a stand alone catagory in 2022.

All Themes ARE OPTIONAL - we believe people should have the freedom to create...
