2022 Winners

The 2022 Young Jeweller Awards theme is about the ocean and who lives there - be it mystical, mythical, or magical.

Latitude Jewellers has a long ongoing relationship with the ocean and draws inspiration from our Island home at the Abrolhos Islands.

 

Young Jeweller 2022 Overall Winner

Chosen by Latitude Jewellers Founder Pia Boschetti

Prize: $300 Latitude Jewellers Gift Voucher and one day on the jewellers bench in the Latitude Jewellers workshop.

The recipient will get the opportunity to make a piece of jewellery, under the direction of a qualified jeweller and gets to keep the piece of jewellery they make.

Principal’s Award

Prize: $150 Latitude Jewellers Gift Voucher

Leaning Tree Steiner School

Chosen and presented by Education Manager, Mike Friday.

Winner: Logan Leo Bland

Clever use of the “moon shape” on the pearl, different textures, and the horizon line. Representative of the special Geraldton sunsets.

Special Mention: Jamie Nunn

The simple representation of the Geraldton lifestyle and the thoughtful use of the pearl’s colour representing the sun over the moon.

Principal’s Award

Geraldton Senior High School

Chosen by Principal, Emma Walker and presented by Programming Coordinator - Chris O’Neill.

Winner: Riley Cook

Fits the design brief, highly creative and inspired by mythology, legend and history ~ technically brilliant, with a well-crafted execution.

Special Mention: Sienna Raymond

Inspirational story and impeccably crafted, I would wear this piece. A story, multiple mediums, and exceptional finishing.

Principal's Award

Nagle Catholic College

Chosen by Mr Michael Williams, Principal and presented by Head of Learning ~ Technologies, Mr Oliver Murray.

Winner: Dakota Singleton

Beauty in its simplicity, captured the brief perfectly.

Gallery Choice Award

Chosen by the Latitude Jewellers Team and presented by Latitude Jewellers Founder Pia Boschetti.

People's Choice Award

The public have the opportunity to vote for their favourite piece for the duration of the exhibition and the winner is announced on the 30th September on the Latitude Jewellers social media platform @latitude Jewellers

Craftsmanship/Technical Award
